Gasthaus! Food like in Germany, only closer.

The Gasthaus is Louisville's truly authentic German Restaurant. Family owned and operated since 1993.

Michael and Annemarie Greipel and their children, all born and raised in Germany, provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere, while serving the best authentic German cuisine, as well as German beers and wines.

Annemarie's home made Desserts have been described as" works of art" and have had rave-reviews from newspapers and magazines. Annemarie, self taught baker takes great pride in creating many delicious "Torten" like Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte (Blackforest Cake) and fine pastries.

The ambience at the Gasthaus is enhanced as much by the authentic surroundings as by the authentic cuisine. Served by waitresses wearing real dirndls, the traditional German folk dress, guests can sample the finest cooking you can find in any German home.
"Michael handpicks meats, vegetables and
fruits fresh daily from local suppliers."
